What is a “Reed Buy”?

Reed Kasaoka is the head buyer of the Sports Division at Dave & Adam's. His primary responsibility is traveling all over the country, buying private collections out of people’s closets, bedrooms, attics, basements, garages, and storage units, as well as complete inventories of show dealers, shop owners, autograph dealers, and distributors. Reed comes up with some amazing finds – rarely seen unopened boxes, quality graded cards, certified autographed memorabilia, and much more.

We have tagged all of his acquisitions as a Reed Buy so you’ll know where to look first for all of his deals. Almost every item is “one-of-a-kind” – so when you see something interesting, don’t hesitate, because there are likely many other collectors who are thinking the exact same thing!

The premier edition of the 1991 All World Canadian Football set contains of 110 standard-size cards. This set includes legends of the CFL and an eight-card "Rocket" subset. In addition, 2,000 personally signed Rocket Ismail cards were randomly inserted in the packs. The front design has high gloss color action photos trimmed in red, on a royal blue background with diagonal white pinstripes. The player's name appears in red lettering in the lower left corner, and the CFL helmet logo is in the lower right corner. The backs are horizontally oriented and have royal blue borders. While the veteran player cards have head and shoulders color shots and player information on the backs, the rookie, coach, All Star, "Rocket," and legend cards omit the picture and have personal information framed by red borders. The following cards are designated as "Rookie" on the card front: 4, 16, 28, 33, 53, 63, 66, 68, 78, 84, 92, 101, and 110.
