SCP Auctions’ 2021 Fall Premier Auction Features T206 Honus Wagner

SCP Auctions opened their Fall Premier Auction on October 13th with Lot #1 featuring the infamous “Holy Grail” of the hobby, a 1909-11 T206 Honus Wagner – PSA Authentic (Restored).

SCP’s Fall Premier Auction is set to end on October 30th, this Saturday. Currently, the T206 Wagner lot has a Reserve Price that has not been met. With only 3 Days left in the auction, the current bid sits at $835k.

How many T206 Wagner cards are in the hobby today?

Well, there isn’t an exact number, but the common estimate in the community is around 60. This specific T206 Wagner has been given the grade of “AUTHENTIC RESTORED” and encapsulated by PSA.

When PSA grades a card “AUTHENTIC RESTORED”, it means that the card was restored – either professionally or of other means – to improve the card’s eye appeal.

Most T206 Wagner cards that survived the past century are typically  in poor to good conditions. This particular SCP lot originally suffered from a surface crease, but the owner made the decision to have the card professionally restored. The finished product is stunning.

SCP Auctions anticipates a seven-figure result on this lot after a SGC Authentic example, that had the back practically falling apart, fetched $2.5 million on May 1, 2021.

Stay tuned for an update on our Blog for this particular T206 Auction.

Happy Bidding!
