Rookie Heat Check: ARE THESE THE HOTTEST ROOKIES IN SPORTS CARD RIGHT NOW?

Since the seasons are changing and it’s getting a bit chilly out, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to HEAT THINGS UP by sharing the HOTTEST selling cards of some of the top rookies in each of the four major sports!

So let’s add some fuel to the fire with our first hot rookie, Chicago Bears QB, Caleb Williams. Williams was the 1st overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft and leads all rookie QB’s in passing touchdowns with 9 thrown. Caleb Williams highest selling card on the market right now is his 2022 Bowman U Chrome True Gold Refractor 1st Auto /50 SGC 10 that’s listed at $3,999.99, while his 1/1 2024 Topps Now 1st Pick Caleb Williams Inscription ROOKIE AUTO recently sold for $37,200 on Oct. 25th, 2024. While the Caleb Williams card market is up, Chicago fans are still BEAR DOWN.

Let’s keep the ball rolling onto the hardwood with our next hot rookie, Zach Edey, rookie Center for the Memphis Grizzlies. Edey stands at 7 foot 4 and was the 9th overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft. Zach Edey’s highest selling card on the market right now is his 2024 Topps Now Draft Purple Auto /25 PSA 10 Gem Mint SSP  listed at $2,300, while his 2023 Bowman U Now Dual Auto with Caitlin Clark /49 recently sold for $6,600 on Sep. 28th, 2024. Now that’s FIRE.

Now let’s talk about the ultimate gem on the diamond, Pittsburgh Pirates rookie Pitcher Paul Skenes. Although he was the 1st overall pick in 2023, this 2024 season was his official rookie year. He started for the National League in this year’s MLB All Star Game, and finished the season with an 11-3 record, 1.96 ERA, 170 strikeouts, and 32 walks in 133 innings. Skene’s highest selling card on the market right now is his 2023 Bowman Draft Glass Red AUTO PSA GEM MINT 10 /5 listed at $18,000, while his 1/1 2023 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospect Autograph SuperFractor recently sold for $123,220 on Sep. 28th, 2024. Safe to say that Paul Skenes stays bringing the HEAT.

The rink might be ice cold, but Dallas Stars rookie Logan Stankoven has been RED HOT basically melting the ice down when his number is called. Stankoven is 1 of 5 rookies to have scored a goal this early into the season and leads all rookies in shots on net with 22 lasers. Stankoven’s highest selling card on the market right now is his 2024-25 Upper Deck Series 1 Base Young Guns for roughly $90, while his last big sale was his 2024-25 Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns Red Outburst 25/25 that sold for $1,500 on Oct. 17th, 2024.
