Happy Halloween!

We love having the chance to highlight some of the unique items we have in our Hit Parade inventory and since Halloween is TODAY, we figured it was the perfect excuse to do so. Our head entertainment buyer, Tony, was able to pull out some of his favorite Halloween pieces from a few scary movies that we often find ourselves watching during this time of year.

The first item we are highlighting is this Black lagoon toy autographed by Ricou Browning, who played Gill-Man in the underwater scenes! Creature from Black Lagoon is still one of the most iconic horror legends in cinematic history. Released in 1954, the amphibious “Gill-Man” shocked and thrilled audiences, showing them a threat like nothing they have seen before. Since inspiring two sequels in 1955 & 1956 there have been dozens of reboots and remakes that have been canceled throughout the years. Will we ever see the creature return to the big screen?

Second, we have a Ghost Face funko pop autographed by Matthew Lillard, who played Stu Macher in the movie Scream. “You wanna play a game?.” Don’t answer the phone, lock all of the doors and turn on all the lights! Another classic from Wes Craven, Scream re-invented the slasher genre for the 90’s and was inspired by real life events. Scream is Wes Craven’s homage to the Horror genre, referencing dozens of scary movies including: Halloween, When a Stranger Calls, Friday the 13th, The Exorcist, Prom Night, Carrie, Psycho and more!

Up next we have this awesomely creepy Pennywise toy. “When you’re down here with us, you’ll float too.” Pennywise the dancing clown has been hunting the civilians of Derry since 1715, feeding every 27 years. From the mind of Stephen King, it was a novel written in 1986 and eventually adapted into a movie which was released in 1990. In our opinion this was one of the scariest movies ever made. Exactly 27 years later, Pennywise made his return when IT was released in 2017. The big screen remake shocked audiences and brought the dancing clown back to haunt us once again. Will Pennywise return in 2044?

Do we have any Freddy Krueger fans? “One, Two, Freddy’s coming for you…..” How about this piece from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. This 1 of 1 prop replica glove features autographs from three of Freddy’s victims including Lisa Wilcox, Brooke Theiss & Toy Newkirk. Freddy Krueger has killed approximately 35 victims over an eight film span and has been haunting our dreams since 1984. Never forget we are all Freddy’s Children!

Everyone knows this iconic killer and the mask that goes along with him. This replica mask is autographed by James Jude Cortney who shares the role of Michael Myers with the original star Nick Castle. Originally titled “The Babysitter Murders”, Halloween defined the slasher genre and launched the career of Jamie Lee Curtis while making John Carpenter a household name in the Horror movie industry. In 2018, David Gordon Green brought Michael back to the big screen in a brand new trilogy of terror and just recently released the second movie Halloween Kills which is currently in theatres.

Up next we are highlighting one of the best zombie movies ever made. “When there is no more room on earth, the dead will walk the earth.” George A. Romeo produced a masterpiece and because of this created a fandom since its release back in 1978. The followup to “Night of the Living Dead”, “Dawn of the Dead” follows new survivors as they search for shelter from the dead rising from the grave. This Dawn of the Dead comic is triple signed by Ken Foree, Scott Reiniger and Gaylen Ross.

Last but not least we have a Funko Pop from what most people consider the scariest movie of all time, The Exorcist. The movie was inspired by the 1949 exorcism case of Roland Doe and opened the day after Christmas in 1973. This movie created a lot of controversy and provoked fainting, vomiting and heart attacks in cinemas across the US. In 2023, The Exorcist will be coming back in a planned reboot of the series thanks to the same creative team that relaunched the Halloween franchise.

Thank you everyone. We hope you have a safe and fun Halloween!
