Welcome back to our weekly feature highlighting some of the standout performances around the National Football League. Hopefully your fantasy team or home team featured some of these Dave & Adam’s “Leaders of the Pack” for Week 3.
Did you happen to catch the blog I wrote last week on the quarterbacks from the 2012 draft? Some of those QBs tore it up on Sunday! Four of them were ranked in the top 10 for passing yards for the week and three threw for at least 325 yards and three touchdowns. Kirk Cousins had a huge day for the Redskins, completing 30 of 48 passes for 427 yards and three touchdowns, but lost to fellow 2012 QB, Nick Foles, and the Eagles. Foles was impressive once again with three touchdowns and 325 yards passing as Philadelphia remains undefeated in 2014.
Our “Leader of the Pack”, however, is the number one pick from the 2012 draft, Andrew Luck. Luck was near perfect in the Colts 44-17 win over Jacksonville. He went 31 for 39 for 370 yards and four touchdowns to help Indy get their first win of the season. Luck leads all QBs with nine touchdowns through the first three games of the season.
We have just listed another Andrew Luck rookie card here at Dave & Adam’s. It is a 2012 Gridiron Rookie Gridiron Gems Jersey Trios Autograph with three jersey swatches on the card. Be sure to check it and the rest of Luck rookies we have available here at D & A.
The New York Giants finally broke through for their first win of the season with a 30-17 victory over the Houston Texans. Rashad Jennings had a career day with 176 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Jennings carried the ball 34 times against the Texans, which is the same amount carries he had in the Giants first two games combined.
This is already Jennings’s third different team he’s played for since entering the league in 2009. He was drafted out of Liberty College in the seventh round by the Jacksonville Jaguars. You can find his rookie cards in various 2009 football sets.
The bar was set pretty high on Thursday night for our LOTP at wide receiver. Julio Jones was one of the many Atlanta Falcons that had huge days in their 56-14 shellacking of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jones caught nine passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns for the second best performance of his career. He was able to carry the load for the receiving corps with Roddy White missing the game due to injury.
Jones is looking to have a bounce back year in 2014 after missing most of last season due to injury. He was highly touted when the Falcons drafted him sixth overall from Alabama in 2011. Check out the 2011 Topps Bowman Sterling AJ Green/Julio Jones Patch card we have available at D & A. The card is numbered one of five and features two of the biggest playmakers to come out of the 2011 draft.
