Manny Machado has made a fast impact for the Orioles. In his debut on Thursday, the third overall pick in the 2010 draft went 2-4 with a triple. He followed that up with two home runs on Friday. On Saturday, the 20-year-old had only a double and an RBI. Is it early to declare Machado a superstar? Sure. But things are looking very good for this young prospect.
Although he doesn’t have any official rookie cards yet, there are still plenty of products that have magnificent Manny Machado cards. Here’s a look:
2009 Upper Deck USA Baseball National Team Sets
Manny Machado has more than 15 different cards available in these loaded sets. All but one are either autographed or memorabilia cards. But these sets don’t come cheap. Stephen Strasburg, Bryce Harper and several other emerging stars have some of their first autographs in this limited product as well.
2009 Upper Deck Signature Stars
2009 Upper Deck Signature Stars boxes are becoming a hidden gem in the hobby. Many of the hits in the product come from USA Baseball players. Several of them are starting to hit their major league stride and are showing a lot of promise. Machado is just the latest. Cards of his to look for in here include Future Watch Autographed Jerseys and Star Rookies Autographed Jerseys. Collectors can also find several low-numbered Machado patches and parallels.
2010 Bowman Chrome Baseball
In 2010, the USA Baseball license moved over to Topps. Machado can be found in his national team threads as a part of the 18U inserts. Besides the basic card, collectors can chase several numbered Refractors.
2010 Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects Baseball
Collectors looking for the Manny Machado cards should look to 2010 Bowman Draft Baseball. The infielder’s Bowman Chrome autograph is his first in an Orioles uniform. 2011 Bowman Platinum Baseball
Another great place to find Machado autographs, he has both a solo signature card and a dual autograph with Christian Colon (not to mention numerous Refractors). It is worth noting that Machado’s basic signature and its parallels are redemptions.
