Upper Deck signs exclusive trading card deal with Euroleague Basketball

Upper Deck has signed a deal to bolster their basketball releases. UD is now the exclusive trading card producer for Euroleague Basketball, which grants them access to Europe’s top prospects as well as American players that have gone overseas. Euroleague cards will begin appearing in Upper Deck releases starting in 2015 and will include autograph and memorabilia cards.

“More and more European players are making headlines for their polished style of play,” said Jason Masherah, president of Upper Deck in a company press release. “It was a natural fit for Upper Deck to work with the top European basketball league in order to deliver future stars to our collectors. We are excited to see what the future holds for Euroleague Basketball and Upper Deck.”

This addition to Upper Deck’s collection of exclusive deals will help their future hoops releases. With Panini holding the exclusive rights to the NBA, UD relies heavily on its deal with the NCAA as well as players such Michael Jordan and LeBron James for its basketball cards.
