Here at Dave & Adam’s we are ALWAYS buying and we can’t stress that enough! Over the past couple of weeks our Director of Acquisitions, Reed Kasaoka did just that and bought three very unique items. Check out below what Reed had to say about each item.
1998 SP Authentic Football Hobby Case
The first of three items is this 1998 SP Authentic Football Case. This case is an extremely rare item, and one we’ve only seen a couple times over the last decade. Now it’s possible that every once in awhile you might’ve seen a single hobby box listed for sale, but to have the entire case is truly special. This factory sealed case contains 12 hobby boxes, each box containing 24 packs with 5 cards each. It also contains condition-sensitive foil rookie cards of Hall of Famers such as, Peyton Manning, Charles Woodson, and Randy Moss.
1999/00 SP Authentic Basketball Hobby Case
The second item we are highlighting is also a case, but this time it’s a 1999/00 SP Authentic Basketball Case. Now, I’m sure many of you know that this year may not have the most inspiring rookie class led by Baron Davis, Steve Francis, and Rip Hamilton, but it still has some pretty desirable hits. This factory sealed case contains 12 hobby boxes with at least one autograph per box, meaning a possible Jordan and Kobe could be lurking inside this case!
1952 Topps Mickey Mantle Rookie Card
The last Reed buy we are highlighting is this beautiful 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card (1952 Mantle). It was recently graded at the 2021 National Convention in Chicago, and has one obvious mark on it – the fading remnants of what appears to be a number “7” written on the front of the card. Usually, writing on the card results in a “MK” or “marked” designation from PSA, but we believe it was given an “Altered” tag because it looks like there was an attempt to erase the handwriting. We’ve looked over the rest of the card carefully, and there doesn’t seem to be any other points to indicate this card has been altered in another way. Reasonably centered with nice color to it, it’s your chance to obtain an “affordable” copy of one of the most famous baseball cards in the hobby.
