Eichel Young Gun & McDavid UD Canvas Young Gun top 15-16 Upper Deck Series 2 checklist

Upper Deck has released the checklist for 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey, which is due to come out on February 17. It included the full list of players that will have Young Guns rookie cards as part of the second half of UD’s flagship product.

The most anticipated name on the list is Buffalo Sabres prospect Jack Eichel. Collectors will finally be able to get their hands on Eichel’s Young Guns card after only appearing on a UD Canvas Young Gun in Series 1. He ranks third in NHL rookie scoring this season with 16 goals and 35 points. The player selected right after Eichel in the 2015 NHL Draft, Noah Hanafin, will also have his Young Gun rookie in 15-16 Series 2. Other notable names on the checklist include Jake Virtanen, Zac Fucale, Hunter Shinkaruk, Louis Domingue and Nick Ritchie.

Just as Eichel only appeared on a UD Canvas Young Gun in Series 1, Connor McDavid will do the same in Series 2 Hockey. McDavid will actually have two Canvas cards in Series 2. One will feature him as a member of the Edmonton Oilers and he will also have a Program of Excellence UD Canvas card as a member of Team Canada. In addition to McDavid, the Team of Excellence set features several other top rookie players, including Sam Bebbett, Malcolm Subban, Max Domi, Jake Virtanen, Robby Fabbri and Zachary Fucale.

Both McDavid and Eichel appear in several other rookie themed insert and memorabilia sets in Series 2. Look for them in Rookie Breakouts, Rookie Materials, UD Portraits and O-Pee-Chee Update cards.
