2016 Topps Pro Debut Baseball highlights some of the top young players in the game while at the same time showing off what makes attending a Minor League Baseball game fun. Boxes come packed with two autograph cards as well as two relics.
The base set for Pro Debut features 200 cards featuring top MiLB players and the first minor league cards of 2015 MLB Draft picks. Many of the top names in the set have hard to find image variations of their base card. Base cards have four levels of numbered parallels: Gold, Orange (#’d to 25), Red (#’d to 5) and Black (#’d 1/1) plus one-of-one printing plates. Distinguished Debuts inserts highlight 25 MiLB players that made their pro debut in the 2016 season. Promo Night Uniforms show off some of the memorable one-off jerseys teams wore last season.
Leading the aut0graph content in 2016 Pro Debut are signed versions of base cards. The parallels for Pro Debut Autographs are similar in levels and quantities as the ones for the base set. Pro Production Autographs highlight some top players in the minors and feature low numbering. Dual Affiliation autos include two players from the same farm system. Pro Production and Dual Affiliation autos have Red parallels numbered to five, one-of-one Black parallels and one-of-one printing plates.
The relic cards in Pro Debut are all familiar to anyone that has collected this set in the past. Fragments of the Farm contain memorabilia pieces taken from different MiLB ballparks. These can range from pieces of seats, bases, tickets and even hair from a Jobu bobblehead given away at a game last season. Pennant Patches and Minor League Mascot Patches are unique manufactured patch pieces. Parallels of memorabilia cards include: Gold (#’d, Pennant Patches and Fragments of the Farm only), Red (#’d to 5), Black (#’d 1/1) and one-of-one printing plates.
