2016 Topps Legacies of Baseball is all-new product that focuses on some of the game’s most memorable players. Every box will come with two autographed cards with on-card signatures plus an aluminum Vault Metals card and an insert numbered to 99 or less.
Legacies of Baseball is centered around the polished aluminum Vault Metals cards. Topps scoured their library of of player photos to compile a checklist of 50 players from MLB’s past and present, and printed their photos on metal cards. These serve as the base cards for Legacies with three levels of numbered parallel versions: Purple Logo, Red Logo (#’d to 25) and Black Logo (#’d 1/1).
The two autographed cards in each box will come from one of four sets. Tradition Autographs feature players that were memorable for the way they played the game. Loyalty Autographs showcase players that spent most or all of their career with one team. Tenacity Autographs highlight those that showed determination and emotion on the diamond. Exhilaration Autographs focuses on exciting up-and-coming players in MLB. All autographs, except Exhilaration autos, are numbered. All four sets have four levels of numbered parallels: Green, Purple, Red (#’d to 5) and Black (#’d 1/1).
2016 Legacies of Baseball has two sets of numbered inserts cards with one focuses on the game’s past and the other on the game’s future. Lasting Imprints is made up of some best players off all-time while Imminent Arrivals showcases ten top rookie players for 2016, including Kyle Scharber, Miguel Sano and Aaron Nola. Both insert sets have three levels of numbered parallels: Purple, Red (#’d to 5) and Black (#’d 1/1). Look for signed versions of the insert cards as well.
Topps has also produced Legacies Book Cards for their new product. These will open to display two panel with an on-card signature and jumbo-sized jersey pieces.
