Upper Deck brings back the Premier brand for its first hockey release since 2003-04 and first of any kind since 2008-09. 2014-15 Upper Deck Premier Hockey will be a high-end release that comes with seven card per tin (box). UD is guaranteeing one Rookie Auto Patch per tin plus four additional auto or relic hits.
In addition to the hits, tins will also come with two numbered base cards with one veteran and one rookie base card in each tin. Base cards (#’d to 249) have three levels of parallels: Silver Spectrum Jersey (#’d to 149), Gold Spectrum Patch (#’d to 49) and Platinum Blue Auto (#’d 1/1).
Rookie Auto Patch cards come printed on acetate stock and numbered to either 199 or 299. There are levels of parallels numbered to 49 or less. There are also Acetate Auto Patch cards showcasing veteran players.
Premier Mega Patch cards come with monstrous sized patches that are 1.75″ x 2.75″, which means they nearly take up the entire card. UD has taken different kinds of patches from game-worn jerseys, including Chest Logos, Sleeve Numbers, Shoulder Logos and Commemorative Logos. Look for Mega Patch Duos (#’d to 15) with two player patches per card.
Upper Deck pays tribute to 2002-03 Premier Hockey with special patch auto cards that use the design from that year. The 2002-03 release featured rookie cards of Henrik Zetterberg, Rick Nash, Jay Bouwmeester and Jason Spezza. ’02-03 Premier Collection Super Rookie Auto Patch Tribute Cards will include current stars and rookies.
Autograph cards in 14-15 Premiere Hockey include Signature Champions, Inked Inscriptions and Premier Signatures. Premier Signatures have Rookie and Legendary versions as well.
