2014-15 Upper Deck Black Diamond hockey preview

Upper Deck brings back one of it most unique and popular hockey product this December with 2014 Upper Deck Black Diamond Hockey. Black Diamond once again features a tiered set of base cards along with superb-looking relic, autograph and insert cards.

The base set features four levels of cards based on the number of diamonds on the front. The more diamonds on the front, the rarer the card is. There are a total of 100 Single Diamond cards, 50 Double Diamonds (six per box), 25 Triple Diamonds regular and Rookie Gems (three of each per box) and 25 Quadruple Diamonds regular and Rookie Gems (one of each per box plus an additional regular or Rookie). All base cards (regular and Rookie Gems) have three levels of parallels: Star Rubies (regular #’d 50, Rookie Gems #’d to 150), Emerald (regular #’d to 10, Rookie Gems #’d to 25) and Sapphire (regular #’d 1/1, Rookie Gems #’d to 5). There is also a limited run of autographed Emerald and Sapphire parallel cards.

Upper Deck has once again inserted Quad Diamond Relic Draft redemption cards in this year’s edition of Black Diamond. If you are lucky to enough to find one of these you will be able to take be part of an interactive draft to select a 1-of-1 rookie card that has four princess cut diamonds in the card.

Each box of Black Diamond will come with two Double Diamond Dual-Swatch Jersey cards. Gemography autograph cards will come four per case. There are also die-cut Championship Rings, acetate Hardware Heroes and Lustrous Rookies insert cards.
