The inspiration for this #DACWLive blog post came during lunch on Wednesday. The lunch room at Dave & Adam’s headquarters is adjacent to the DACW Live Lounge where all of our live breaks take place. You can usually hear what’s going on in the lounge from the lunch room, especially when they are doing a live break.
This was the case on Wednesday while I was eating my lunch, and it got rather loud in there. Twice in the span of about 10 minutes I heard Alex exclaim “it’s a one-of-one”, and immediately my interest was piqued. After lunch I popped in to see what all the commotion was about.
Both of the one-of-0nes came from the same box of 2014 Panini National Treasures Baseball. The first one was a Prime patch of Cubs All-Star and Home Run Derby contestant Anthony Rizzo.
The second one-of-one was a Legends bat relic of the great Ted Williams with a “400 Club” inscription die-cut on the card.
The one-of-one mojo delivered again on Wednesday during a break of 2014 Topps High Tek Baseball. They pulled a one-of-one Charcoal Galactic Diffractor parallel of 1990s slugger Juan Gonzalez.
The DACW “2 Live Crew” is headed to the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago later this month. They will be doing breaks live from the Case Breakers Pavilion throughout the show. Be sure to stop by and say “hi” if you are planning on attending the show. You can participate even if you’re not going to the National, just check out the DACW Live National page to buy a spot in any of their breaks. All breaks will be streamed online.
