Top Riser: Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

In a huge game against the lovable Detroit Lions, Jackson showed out with 357 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and a rushing TD. 

As a former MVP, Jackson is criminally undervalued in the hobby. Coming from a draft class where the top selections were Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen and Josh Allen, Jackson is easily top-two of the bunch with Allen. 

Now, rookie autos will cost you a bit of change with 2018 product being highly sought after, but if you’re looking for graded rookie bases or parallels/inserts, it is not ridiculous to purchase one at the current moment. For example, a PSA 10 Rated Rookie of Jackson recently sold for $108 on eBay. 

At the current time, Jackson has the Ravens rolling and is definitely making a run for a second MVP award. 

If you already have some rookie Jackson’s, I’d likely hold, as he will only continue to garner eye-popping stats as his career progresses. But, if you are looking to get a Lamar rookie card, buying is not a bad option with how low his market is. 

Honorable Mention: Tyson Bagent, QB, Chicago Bears (Gotta show love for D-2 athletes)

Top Faller: Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers

Before people come for the head, I get that he got hurt this past week. However, he has started to look a little more human after his torrid start to the season. 

After a rough outing versus Cleveland, Purdy followed it with another lackluster performance against the reeling Minnesota Vikings. 

While the hobby continues to search for the top QB of the 2022 draft class – between Kenny Pickett, Malik Willis and Purdy to name a few – the market will always be there for Mr. Irrelevant. 

Purdy’s rise to stardom has been a surprise to many and hobbyists have cashed in on his success. While the last two weeks can completely be an overreaction, it is likely that Purdy will have to miss this Sunday with a concussion. 

As hobbyists know with injuries, that tends to show a slight decline in prices. 

If you continue to have faith in Purdy, this could be a good time to buy while the hype has dwindled a bit.
