Early Wednesday morning in the eastern United States, Topps UK announced the release of Topps Disney 100 Chrome.
The release is honoring and celebrating the 100 year anniversary and history of Disney. The product includes some of your favorite Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Buzz Lightyear, Lightning McQueen and many more in a 100-card base set.
With a new product also comes new inserts. The inserts guaranteed in each Disney 100 box include Iconic Moments (3 per box), Stitch in Costume (2) and Off the Page (1). Collectors can also expect four numbered parallels per box.
The parallels include refractors; pink refractors numbered to 399; purple refractors numbered to 299; 100-year diamond refractors numbered to 100; green refractors numbered to 99; dark blue and light blue refractors numbered to 75; gold wave refractors to 50; red and black wave refractors numbered to 25; blue wave refractors numbered to 23; black kaleidoscope to 10; red kaleidoscope to 5; and superfractors numbered 1 of 1.
A fun and rare feature to the product will include dual and quad facsimile autos. One of the facsimile quad autos featured in the preview included Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto.
On top of everything else, collectors should be on the hunt for one of one “Platinum Characters” and “Mickey and Friends,” which are sequentially numbered to 23.
The one-of-a-kind Platinum Characters will be a tough find, coming one in every 27,203 packs; while the Mickey and Friends will be found once in every 2,845 packs.

Topps has created different sets from Disney movies and shows, but this is the first time Topps has created a full comprehensive set of Disney characters. Other companies have created Disney trading cards, such as Lorcana and Kakawow, as recent as this year.
The product was £150, which roughly translates to around $184 American, but sold out within the day. The product was also only available for European customers, so it will be intriguing to see if the product ever makes its way to the United States.
With boxes flying off the website within hours of its release, it’s fair to say collectors have a glowing interest in the Disney characters of yesterday and today.
