Upper Deck unwraps it’s plans for the 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention

The 4th of July has come and gone which means the next ‘holiday’ up on everyone’s summer schedule is the 38th annual National Sports Collectors Convention! This year’s show is taking place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago from Wednesday, July 26th through Sunday, July 30th. As always Dave & Adam’s will be there in full force. Upper Deck will of course be there too, along with their impressive program of specials and redemptions for the convention.

Previous attendees of the show know all about Upper Deck’s Wrapper Redemption Program and this year Upper Deck follows a familiar approach. The Wrapper Redemption packs produced just for the National allow attendees to get their hands on some special items. Attendees can find both Prominent Cuts cards which feature a variety of past and present greats from various sports and NHL Top Shelf Rookie cards of this past season’s prospects in the redemption packs. Randomly inserted into these packs are limited autograph cards as well as 1:1 cut autograph cards from Chicago legends! Some of the names to look for include Michael Jordan, 2017 NHL Hart Trophy winner Connor McDavid, the Great One Wayne Gretzky, and Blackhawks greats Bobby Hull, Jonathan Toews, and Patrick Kane. Some of the NHL Top Shelf Rookies to chase after include 2017 Calder Trophy winner Auston Matthews, fellow Leaf rookie phenom Mitch Marner and the 2nd Overall Pick from the 2016 NHL Draft Patrik Laine.

To receive one 2017 Upper Deck Wrapper Redemption pack attendees need to purchase:

Ten packs of 2016-17 NHL Upper Deck Series Two or 2016-17 NHL Fleer Showcase

Five packs of 2016-17 NHL Upper Deck ICE or 2016-17 NHL SP Authentic

To receive three 2017 Upper Deck Wrapper Redemption packs attendees need to purchase one pack of 2015-16 NHL Ultimate Collection or 2016-17 NHL Ultimate Collection .

These packs must be purchased from a Certified Diamond Dealer, such as ourselves at Dave & Adam’s, who will provide attendees with an Upper Deck issued voucher for the redemption program. The program will begin at the start of the show each day and run until supplies last. Attendees can take advantage of the promotion up to four times per person, per day.

Attendees can also open a sealed case purchased from a Certified Diamond Dealer at the show of 2015-16 NHL Ultimate Collection (10 count case) or 2016-17 NHL Ultimate Collection (8 count case) to receive ten 2017 Upper Deck Wrapper Redemption packs and one Case Breaker raffle ticket which is good for a chance to win a memorabilia item, premium hobby pack/box, premium trading card or Prominent Cuts VIP Autograph card. The item selected will be immediately available to the winner. As mentioned earlier Dave & Adam’s is an Upper Certified Diamond Dealer, so you’ll be able to buy the qualifying cases right from our booth located at number 842 on the floor.

Other specials Upper Deck is planning include a Chicago Legends Promotion and Upper Deck Authenticated Monumental Blind Boxes. The Chicago Legends Promotion gives attendees who purchase five packs of any Upper Deck 2015-16 NHL product during the show a limited-edition Chicago Legends Card. Upper Deck has some of the biggest sports names in the history of the Windy City as part of this promotion with Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and His Airness himself! The Upper Deck Authenticated Monumental Promotion is Upper Deck’s take on the ever popular blind box offering. Each box contains five signed Upper Deck Authenticated memorabilia items. There will only be 100 of these boxes produced for the price of $1,000 per box. All of Upper Deck’s various spokesmen will have content in the boxes and there will be some special spokesmen boxes that contain only signed items from that specific athlete!

Attendees that purchase a VIP admission pass to the National will receive a special five card VIP Prominent Cuts set featuring Michael Jordan, Connor McDavid, Patrick Kane, Lebron James, and Ben Simmons.

Upper Deck will once again run the company’s Random Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt on Friday with 25 prize envelopes hidden throughout the show floor. Attendees can score Upper Deck Authenticated signed memorabilia items, boxes and insert cards.

Upper Deck will also run a variety of free raffles each day (except Friday). Make sure you are at the Upper Deck booth shortly before these scheduled times to score your free ticket: Wednesday at 7pm, Thursday at 5pm, Saturday at 12:30pm, and Sunday at 1pm.
