Topps has made their plans known for this year’s 38th annual National Sports Collectors Convention! This year’s show is taking place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago from Wednesday, July 26th through Sunday, July 30th. As always Dave & Adam’s will be there in full force and Topps has plenty in store for those attending.
Veterans of the National look forward to the Topps Wrapper Redemption program every year and 2017 will be especially anticipated as this year’s cards will be themed to Bowman and the celebration of the iconic brand’s 70th anniversary. The front of each card features a statistic that highlights the year in question, going back a decade at a time.
Returning from last year’s program, attendees can find exclusive refractors only available at the 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention. The cards will utilize a prism foil pattern on chrome stock and the 2017 Bowman design. Each pack will contain four cards.
And did Topps ever deliver with the names this year as well! Rookie phenoms Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers and Aaron Judge of the Yankees headline the elite prospects included. Sandy Koufax and Derek Jeter are among the other cards of top stars, retired greats and more attendees can expect to find. The 50-card checklist will also feature limited autograph cards, and low-numbered parallels including Gold Refractors numbered to 50 and 1:1 numbered Black Refractors.
Attendees can get the Topps Wrapper Redemption packs at their booth by opening select hobby boxes in front of a Topps employee. All Topps 2017 baseball hobby boxes are included in the program except for Topps Opening Day, MLB Sticker Collection, and Topps Bunt. Attendees can also use 2017 Topps UFC Knockout and 2017 Topps MLS hobby boxes as part of the wrapper redemption program.
