Our comic buyer extraordinaire Eric Mowery is back with another review of a 90s gem: DC’s Chain Gang War #5 from November 1993.
I won’t spoil the full review but here is an excerpt which about sums up the issue:
“Apparently, there are a group of rich(?) muscly dudes that are out to lock up all of societies top criminals. THEY’VE HAD IT! with an unresponsive justice system, and their methods run afoul–yada yada yada–in walks Deathstroke.”
Now Deathstroke is one of DC’s top anti-heroes/villains but I’m pretty sure Chain Gang War #5 was a low point for the character. If you are looking for some other (non 90s) stories featuring Slade Wilson check out his first appearance in The New Teen Titans #2. Classic Wolfman and Perez issue below!
