What’s Up in the DACW Live Lounge – July 6th

We will start out this week’s DACW Live Lounge review with one of the biggest releases of the year: 2015/16 SP Authentic Hockey. SP Authentic has long been one of the most popular and best looking products for years and this year’s entry didn’t let me down. So far we’ve opened over 4 cases of this and we’ve scored a bunch of great hits for our breakers, most notably the Dylan Larkin Limited Patch auto and the Connor McDavid Future Watch auto. While those rookie cards are always the top chases there are always surprises found within SP Authentic whether they are awesome booklet autos (like the Robby Fabbri one below) or unannounced Young Guns acetates or the Gold Ink Black Parallel Future Watch autos. Every time we crack one of these open there is a fair chance we’ll pull something that nobody could reasonably expect.

This next part I write rather begrudgingly, but I need to give credit where credit is due. Sean had one of the best breaks in the lounge we’ve seen last week. His “Hail Mary” Football mixer literally was the equivalent of your favorite team scoring a game winning touchdown with a Hail Mary throw in a box break. Usually with mixers we are able to get a box or two with a case hit in them, but Sean was able to get the equivalent of 4 case hits in the break along with a slew of other nice hits. Probably my favorite is the 1/1 Exquisite Barry Sanders Violet auto, that’s just not even fair, which was accompanied with TWO Andrew Luck autos and the 1/1 Eddie Lacy RPA from Museum Collection. If you think I sound a little jealous that I didn’t break this it’s because I am, there is quite a bit of one-upmanship that goes on in the Lounge but in this case game simply has to respect game. Lastly, for my favorite hit of the week it is this amazing Jack Nicklaus Authentic Moments auto pulled from the aforementioned SP Authentic. We pulled this stunner for Lounge Legend Chad who is in the final stages of putting together a master set of 2014 SP Authentic Golf and this was one of the very last remaining cards that still eluded him. I always say when golf hits it big it’s rather hard to top.
