Our head comic buyer Will Mason just returned home to our Buffalo offices with a massive buy from Florida – The Incredible Hulk #181. Let’s check in with Will and get his thoughts on this amazing key issue!
I spend a significant amount of time in airports and on airplanes. When you get to travel the country buying and selling comic books, it comes with the territory. Generally speaking when I fly some where I’m at least there for a substantial amount of time, but my trip to Miami this week was very different. On Tuesday I received a call from a customer interested in selling one particular book. Once he told me what it was and it’s grade, I knew I was bound for the airport.
This copy of the Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.8 features the first appearance of one of Marvel’s most prominent characters Wolverine. Arguably it can be stated, that this book is to the bronze age what Amazing Fantasy #15 (Origin & 1st Appearance of Spider-Man) is to the silver age. While there are a decent amount of 9.8s in existence (115 Universal copies according to the CGC census), they don’t come to market all that often, meaning I was more than willing to fly to Miami for an hour to complete this transaction.
If you have any copies of Incredible Hulk #181 or, any other Golden, Silver, or bronze age collections don’t hesitate to contact Will and the comic team at Dave & Adam’s! They would be happy to discuss purchasing your collection. Email [email protected] or call 1-888-440-9787 ext. 117.
