DA Drops of the Week: 1/23-1/29

After a brief hiatus, we’re back with your DA Drops for the week of January 23.

Not a whole lot to report here as we prepare to head into February, but there are still a handful of new products scheduled to release this week we will showcase.

Basketball

Wednesday, January 26, marks the return of Panini’s Flawless Basketball.

It’s the 2020/2021 edition, so that includes the rookie class with players such as Lamelo Ball, James Wiseman, and of course, the “Ant-Man,” Anthony Edwards.

Panini says the base rookies are “sequentially numbered to 20, and feature a genuine diamond embedded in the card.”

An additional note from Panini is that all the memorabilia swatches in Flawless are game-used. Keep an eye out for Logoman autos and Laundry Tag autos that have wowed collectors in past versions of the product.

Per box, Flawless will consist of nine autograph or memorabilia cards and one diamond card, on average.

Football

On a similar note, in a different sport, Panini is due to release the 2021 edition of Immaculate Football on Friday, January 28.

In Immaculate, Panini says collectors can find some of the “first on-card patch autographs” of Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Justin Fields, among many more talented players in this deep rookie class.

New to this year’s Immaculate, Panini says to look for new memorabilia cards in “Clearly Immaculate Rookie Jerseys” and what they’re calling “unique Gatorade Sideline Towels.”

According to the company, collectors can also expect to see new on-card autographs in “Nameplate Nobility Signatures.”

Sort of like Flawless Basketball, Immaculate Football will include memorabilia cards that feature items such as team logos, brand logos, laundry tags, NFL shields, cleats, gloves, helmets, hats, and more.

For Immaculate, on average, you should look for five autographs or memorabilia cards and one base or parallel per box.

Following the hobby release of Mosaic Football earlier this year, Panini is releasing the “No Huddle” version of the product Friday.

Panini says collectors should be on the hunt for super short print (SSP) gold and black parallels exclusive to “No Huddle.”

Here is the breakdown of base and rookie parallels that you can only find in these boxes:

– No Huddle Silver, No Huddle Blue (#’d /75)

– No Huddle Purple (#’d /50)

– No Huddle Pink (#’d /20)

– No Huddle Gold (#’d /10)

– No Huddle Black (#’d /1)

On average, Panini says a box of “No Huddle” Mosaic will have one auto, three silver parallels, 10 Fast Breaks parallels, five inserts, and one rookie variation No Huddle.

Pokémon

Last but certainly not least, there’s some new, new dropping in the gaming world.

Pokemon fans won’t have to wait much longer for the arrival of the VSTAR Special Collection box.

On Friday, fans of the TCG will see the release of boxes featuring either Leafeon or Glaceon.

In fact, each special collection box includes:

  • One promo card featuring Leafeon V or Glaceon V
  • One etched promo card featuring Leafeon VSTAR or Glaceon VSTAR
  • One oversized etch card featuring Leafeon VSTAR or Glaceon VSTAR
  • One acrylic VSTAR marker
