Hello everyone, welcome back to the FNM recap. This past week was cash night, meaning all of our prizes were given out as cash! We also have two new lists this week, starting with Dan Leff’s Red/Green Through the Breach Modern list:
4x Primeval Titan
3x Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
4x Obstinate Baloth
3x Courser of Kruphix
4x Sakura Tribe Elder
4x Search for Tomorrow
2x Pyroclasm
1x Kozilek’s Return
3x Sudden Shock
4x Through the Breach
4x Summoning Trap
4x Wooded Foothills
3x Stomping Ground
3x Cinder Glade
3x Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle
4x Forest
7x Mountain
Dan’s deck is all about cheating on mana. The deck wants to ramp and play big things earlier than they should be able to be played. Even when the deck doesn’t ramp, it can have Emrakul, the Aeons Torn attacking for fifteen and annihilating for six on turn four using Through the Breach. Another fun trick the deck can do is Through the Breach a Primeval Titan and fetch out Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle on each trigger.
Our other list this week is actually mine from our Standard event, and it’s also a Red/Green ramp list:
11x Forest
3x Mountain
2x Cinder Glade
3x Wooded Foothills
4x Shrine of the Forsaken Gods
4x Sanctum of Ugin
1x Blighted Woodland
3x Rattleclaw Mystic
4x Worldbreaker
2x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
2x Chandra, Flamecaller
3x Ugin, the Spirit Dragon
4x Oath of Nissa
4x Nissa’s Pilgrimage
4x Explosive Vegetation
3x Kozilek’s Return
3x Hedron Archive
Sideboard:
1x Void Winnower
1x Ugin, the Spirit Dragon
1x Kozilek’s Return
3x Crumble to Dust
4x Jaddi Offshoot
2x Plummet
1x Kozilek, the Great Distortion
2x Oblivion Sower
This deck is also about playing large threats ahead of the curve. The deck wants to ramp as early as possible, with the ideal being Rattleclaw Mystic into either of the four-drop ramp spells into a turn-four World Breaker. The deck can go even bigger if it needs to, going up to Ugin, the Spirit Dragon and even Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, if it needs spot removal. The deck is a lot of fun, and if you’re not expecting a fast metagame (and you’re sick of playing Rally) this is probably a good choice.
Come out to Dave and Adam’s FNM every week for your shot at prizes and for your chance to see your deck featured here!
